Installation of Caligari on a hard disk system:
Make a directory (drawer) on the hard disk you wish to put the caligari
system into. Ill call the new directory "Caligari" but It can be any name
you wish.
The directory (drawer) CalData and its contents should be copied into
The new caligari directory on the hard disk. The directory Caldata must
exist in the new caligari directory, however the contents are not necessary.
if the file startup.scr is left out the startup image will simply not be
displayed. If the files "primobjs.idx" and "primobjs.dat" are left out the
primative object icon menu in object design wil not be loaded when the
program is run. The file "calconfig.sys" is the configuration file. If
calconfig.yss is left out it will be created when the program runs. If you
save any extruder or navigation settings this is where they are saved to.
Now that the new directory and its CalData sub directory have been
Added to the hard disk, an addition must be made to the startup-sequence
for the boot of your machine:
Assuming your hard disk is the device "DH0:" and the new directory you
loaded with Caldata is called "Caligari", add the line
"assign caligari: DH0:Caligari"
to your startup sequence or do it manually before caligari is run.
The main program and it's icon may now be put anywhere on the hard disk,
but putting it in the directory Caligari probobly makes sense. You are now
ready to go.
